Netflix的孌童電影"趣緻妹"的爭議和辯論已由社交平台上升到國會山的層次,這娛樂台由民主黨的奥巴馬把持,那當然由共和黨發炮了!
The debate over Netflix film ‘Cuties’ has spread from Twitter onto Capitol Hill.
Republican Reps Andy Biggs (Arizona) and Ken Buck (Colorado) have called for the Department of Justice to ‘open an investigation to ensure the film and its production uphold federal laws protecting children from exploitation.’ It follows calls for the French film to be removed from the platform.
The controversy surrounds discomfiting scenes in which 11-year-old girls twerk their way through nauseatingly sexualized dance routines.
Critics have focused on these scenes, some possibly having watched them in isolation, claiming that it will gratify pedophiles. Biggs and Buck also claim that it ‘victimizes minors’ and is an ‘affront to the children’s dignity.’
Other commentators have defended ‘Cuties’ (originally titled ‘Mignonnes’), arguing that the critics are part of a Twitter ‘mob’ that’s missing the point: that the film is attacking the ‘pornification’ of girls and women and that without such deliberately unwatchable scenes the message would be diluted.
