Outgoing Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has put out a plea for Edward Snowden and Julian Assange to be pardoned by the president, less than a day after Donald Trump pardoned former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
Gabbard posted a video to her Twitter which showed her calling for the two whistleblowers to be pardoned for their 'great personal sacrifice' and exposure of 'the deception and criminality of those in the deep state.'
The congresswoman, set to leave office at the end of her term, previously introduced a resolution urging the government to drop its charges against Snowden.
Snowden, who has just been granted permanent residency in Russia, said he’s 'seen more calls for pardon this year than in all others combined.'
