獸醫面對不合比例的高自殺率,研究表示
I will never forget how I lost three classmates because of depression.
So true and sad about the suicide trend we have now, therefore, forgive me, I work less now and try to find my balance between work and life. It’s never easy. We CARE animals so much more than you can imagine. Our salary does not correlate to how much effort we paid most of the time.

“More than three decades of data shows that veterinarians are up to 3.5 times more likely to die by suicide than members of the general population, according to new a study in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Specifically, the authors cite “long work hours, work overload, practice management responsibilities, client expectations and complaints, euthanasia procedures, and poor work-life balance.” Studies have also shown that anxiety and depression are common among veterinarians, as are related personality traits such as perfectionism. Healthcare workers may also have access to lethal drugs that others do not have.”

Veterinarians Face Disproportionately High Suicide Rates, Study Says

There are many potential reasons why

More than three decades of data shows that veterinarians are up to 3.5 times more likely to die by suicide than members of the general population, according to new a study in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Death records for more than 11,600 veterinarians filed between 1979 and 2015 showed that almost 400 veterinarians died by suicide during this time period. Consistent with general population trends, more male than female veterinarians died by suicide (326 versus 72) during the study. From 2000 to 2015, roughly 10% of deaths among female veterinarians could be attributed to suicide.
