《金融時報》昨日刊登題為〈北京將對香港秋後算帳〉的文章，引述來自高級警官的消息稱，香港警隊內部有多達四分一人 (即約7,500人)，在休班時有參予反對政府的抗爭。
報道指現時北京和示威者都不能退讓，隨着暴力持續升級，解放軍走在香港街道上的機會與日俱增。一名高級警官私下透露，警隊內部有多達四分一人，在私人時間有參予和平示威。儘管警隊受到民眾厭惡，但他們也是由說廣東話的香港人組成，面對來自北方說普通話的佔領軍，不少警員選擇加入反抗的一方。
文章最後指，北京對香港的報復正在來臨。

This scenario would rob Beijing of the luxury to choose when and how it punishes the city. But vengeance is coming.
