Deluxe Supermarket Shopping: Guess Where?
Where can one purchase some of the most epicurean delights, including craft beers and champagne?
You probably are thinking some high-end grocery chain like Whole Foods or some place in Paris or Lyon, France, the gastronomical capital of the world.
Well, I could not resist sharing with my readers this exceptional shopping experience taken by journalist Max Blumenthal in a well-stocked, no-bare-shelves-supermarket in Caracas, Venezuela.
“There isn’t an issue here with food distribution or food scarcity,” Blumenthal concludes. “The issue is the buying power of Venezuelans has been completely destroyed because their currency has been so badly weakened by hyperinflation, speculation and the flood of dollars that the government can’t control here, as well as hoarding by private capitalist elements that support the opposition.”
Question: Can, or when will, the above happen in the USA: Food and commodities that money just can’t buy due to hyperinflation?
A Clue? Millennials are in a love triangle with capitalism and socialism
