Katherine Louise Bouman (born 1989/1990[1]) is an American imaging scientist and Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the California Institute of Technology. She researches computational methods for imaging, and developed an algorithm that made possible the first picture visualization of a black hole using the Event Horizon Telescope.[2][1][3] She was part of the team of over 200 people who implemented the project.[1][4][5]
