NASA researchers believe we are heading towards a reversal of the planet’s magnetic field.

And this would have catastrophic consequences for humanity as when the polar shift happens the Earth will have no magnetic field for about 200 years.

Climate researchers believe we are heading towards a reversal of the planet’s magnetic field.

Such an event that has happened before and has been attributed to 8wiping out the Neanderthal species and may be linked to giant earthquakes, rapid climate change, extinctions and global destruction.

So what does it mean for planet Earth?

The Earth’s magnetic field is in a permanent state of change and is currently showing signs of significant weakening. Magnetic north drifts around and every few hundred thousand years the polarity flips so a compass would point south instead of north.

Life has existed on the Earth for billions of years, during which there have been many reversals. There is no obvious correlation between animal extinctions and those reversals. Likewise, reversal patterns do not have any correlation with human development and evolution.

It appears that some animals, such as whales and some birds use Earth’s magnetic field for migration and direction finding. Since geomagnetic reversal takes a number of thousands of years, they could well adapt to the changing magnetic environment or develop different methods of navigation.

This catastrophic pole shift would neutralise our protection against sun’s radiation, the Earth’s magnetic field, for around 200 years. Radiation at ground level would increase, however, with some estimates suggesting that overall exposure to cosmic radiation would double causing more deaths from cancer.

SO we would have more skin cancers and worldwide electronic communication blackouts. Well on the other side we would have 200 years of amazing northern lights display.
