The Health Ministry of Ukraine has confirmed 974 deaths caused by influenza and acute respiratory viral infections starting from October 29, 2009, through January 15 in all the 24 regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and in Crimea.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the Health Ministry.
According to the statement, since October 29, 140 people have died of flu and acute respiratory viral infections in Donetsk region, 103 people in Lviv region, 54 people in the city of Kyiv, 53 people in Kharkiv region, 49 people in Dnipropetrovsk region, 45 people in Ivano-Frankivsk region, 42 people in Zaporizhia region, 40 people in Kyiv region, 39 people in Cherkasy region, 37 people in Chernihiv region, 35 people in Kirovohrad region, 33 people in Volyn region, 33 people in Crimea, 29 people in Khmelnytskyi region, 26 people in Chernivtsi region, 26 people in Vinnytsia region, and 25 people in Ternopil region.
According to the statement, the flu and acute respiratory viral infections have caused 23 deaths in Rivne region, 23 deaths in each Odesa and Sumy regions, 18 deaths in Poltava region, 17 deaths in Mykolaiv region, 15 deaths in each Zhytomyr region and Sevastopol, 14 deaths in Kherson region, 12 deaths in Zakarpattia region, and 8 deaths in Luhansk region.

Over the past 24 hours the Health Ministry registered 11 deaths caused by flu and acute respiratory viral infections, including three deaths in each Donetsk region and Kyiv, one in each Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions, Sevastopol and Crimea.
Totally 4,217,716 people have contracted influenza and acute respiratory viral infections since October 29, including 33,777 people over the last 24 hours.
Since the start of the epidemic in Ukraine 249,502 people have been taken to hospitals, and 215,717 people have been discharged from hospitals.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on January 13 the Health Ministry of Ukraine confirmed 951 deaths caused by influenza and acute respiratory viral infections starting from October 29 in all the 24 regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and in Crimea.

According to the ministry, the epidemic threshold was exceeded in Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Poltava, Sumy regions and Crimea.
The ministry publishes no separate statistics on cases of A/H1N1 influenza or swine flu.

Twenty-three people, including two pregnant women, have died of flu and its complications (pneumonia) over the past 24 hours, the ministry said. The greatest number of people died in Zaporizhia region (three people) and Kharkiv region (three people).
According to the ministry, the epidemic threshold was exceeded in twelve regions. A relatively favorable epidemic situation is being observed in nine regions, Kyiv and Sevastopol.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic (October 29, 2009), over 3.988 million people have contracted flu and respiratory infections, including 22,858 people over the past 24 hours.
The ministry publishes no separate statistics on cases of A/H1N1 influenza or swine flu.

Starting on October 29, 2009, a total of 113 deaths were reported from Donetsk region, 102 from Lviv region, 45 from Ivano-Frankivsk region, 43 from Kharkiv region, 41 from Dnipropetrovsk region, 40 from the city of Kyiv, 36 from Kyiv region, 32 from Cherkasy region, 31 from Chernihiv region, 29 from Volyn region, 28 from Khmelnytsk region, 31 from Zaporizhia region, 28 from Kirovohrad region, 25 from Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions.
25 people have died in Crimea, 20 in Rivne region, 19 in Vinnytsia region, 17 in Sumy region, 15 in Poltava region, 13 in Mykolaiv region, 12 in Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, and Kherson regions and in the city of Sevastopol each, 14 in Odesa region and 7 in Luhansk region.
Over the past 24 hours, 19 patients have died.
On the whole, starting on October 29, 2009, a total of 3,905,542 flu and acute respiratory virus infection cases have been registered, including 61,601 over the past 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the epidemic 225,925 patients have been rushed to hospital, and 189,019 released.
As Ukrainian News reported, over the October 29, 2009 - January 4, 2010 period, the health ministry confirmed 805 deaths of flu and ARVIs in all the 24 regions, Kyiv, Sevastopol and Crimea.

The Health Ministry of Ukraine has confirmed 727 fatal cases caused by flu and acute respiratory virus infections in all the 24 regions of Ukraine, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea over the October 29 - December 31 period, the ministry's press release says.

Starting on October 29, a total of 101 deaths were reported from Lviv region, 91 from Donetsk, 44 from Ivano-Frankivsk, 37 from the city of Kyiv, 35 from Kyiv region, 33 from Kharkiv region, 32 from Dnipropetrovsk, 28 from Khmelnytskyi and Chernihiv, 27 from Volyn, 26 from Cherkasy, 25 from Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions each, 24 from Kirovohrad and 21 from Zaporizhia region.
In all, 20 people have died in Crimea, 18 in Rivne region, 15 in Sumy and Poltava regions each, 13 in Vinnytsia region, 12 in Zakarpattia region, 11 in the city of Sevastopol and in Kherson region each, 10 in Odesa and Zhytomyr regions each, 8 in Mykolaiv, and 7 in Luhansk regions.

Over the past 24 hours, 31 patients have died, including 6 in Donetsk region, 4 in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions each, 3 in Crimea and Kyiv each, 2 in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions each, 1 in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zaporizhia, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Khmelnytskyi regions each.

On the whole, starting on October 29, a total of 3,753,896 flu and acute respiratory virus infection cases have been registered, including 41,491 over the past 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the epidemic 212,349 patients have been rushed to hospital, and 176,941 released.
As Ukrainian News reported, over the October 29 - December 30 period, the health ministry confirmed 698 deaths of flu and ARVIs in all the 24 regions, Kyiv, Sevastopol and Crimea.

The ministry of healthcare confirmed 615 deaths caused by influenza and acute respiratory viral infections starting from October 29 and into December 25 in all the 24 regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the ministry has informed.
Eighteen people have died over the last 24 hours, including four in Donetsk region, three in Dnipropetrovsk region, three in Odesa region, three in the city of Sevastopol, and two in Kirovohrad region.
One man died in Poltava region, one in Kherson region and one in Cherkasy region for the last 24 hours.
Totally 3,482,456 people have contracted influenza and acute respiratory viral infections since October 29, including 68 416 over the last 24 hours.
Since the start of the epidemic in Ukraine 193,518 people have been taken to hospitals, 157,575 discharged from hospitals.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Health Ministry confirmed 597 deaths of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections between October 29 and December 24 in all the 24 regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and in Crimea.
