US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has warned that 2010 will remain a tough year for Americans looking for jobs.
美國財政部長蓋特納警告，2010年仍將是艱難的一年對找工作的美國人。
Geithner says the troubled US job market will soon see some improvement but "the unemployment rate is likely to remain elevated for an extended period."
蓋特納說，陷入困境的美國就業市場，將很快看到一些改善，但在延長的時間“失業率可能仍高企。”
Geithner warned that over 100,000 jobs should be created each month to push the jobless rate down from the current level of unemployment rate.

"Because we do not expect job growth substantially over 100,000 per month over the remainder of the year, we do not expect substantial further declines in unemployment this year," AFP quoted him as saying during a testimony before the House Appropriations Committee.
"The current unemployment rate of 9.7 percent is unacceptable by any metric," Geithner said.
After the beginning of recession in late 2007, an estimated 8.4 million Americans have lost their jobs. Some 750,000 jobs were shed each month in the first months of 2009.
