Mexican police say more than 80 gunmen have attacked a northern town, killing at least four people and setting police stations on fire.

The gunmen, who arrived in more than a dozen pickup trucks, attacked the police station in the town of Maycoba and killed at least four people on Thursday, AP on Friday quoted local officials as saying.

The attack, which lasted for several hours and was organized by a gang of criminals ended later on the day, authorities said, who refrained from disclosing further details.
