Virus Lab Not Immune to Leaks and Spills

It has been revealed that the National Microbiology Lab in Canada is not actually immune to failures, leaks and spills in the restricted areas of the lab. The most notable fact is that the lab is the house of some of the deadliest organisms in the world behind its much air - tight walls and also its biosafety cabinets.

It was reported that there had been almost 250 incidents in the lab that had ranged from minor failures in the equipment, to more potential and dangerous exposure to chemicals between the years 2005 and 2009.

While the Level 4 of the lab was the level which had the most security and considered to be the safest level, there had been several failures in the equipment and also two complaints of a problem in the air system of the level in the year 2008.
However, it is imperative to note that the incidents or rather accidents has a severity which ranges from simply harmless finger cuts to the more dangerous virus and chemical exposure and also the failure of the equipments in the Levels 3 and 4 of the lab.
