First claims for compensation for swine flu jab injuries are filed in Germany

Four people in the German state of Nordrhein Westfalen (NRW) have filed financial compensation claims for injury they have suffered as a result of taking the Pandemrix swine flu jab, the state’s health ministry reported Wednesday, according to „Focus“.

A fifth person is expected to file for compensation soon.

A spokesperson confirmed the state government carries liabilty for injury caused by the swine flu vaccine, which was recommended by them. In addition, the federal government in Berlin issued a special recommendation.

Adverse reactions reported by injured patients include respiratory problems, nausea, vomiting, among others.

About one million people in the state of NRW and about 7.5 million people in Germany altogether took the swine flu vaccin.
