對流層火山塵雲 機長最怕碰上的空中災害

（法新社巴黎 15日電） 火山爆發是民航界最害怕的災難，爆發時噴發出的微細灰燼，不但會損害噴射引擎，造成高科技的航空電子探測裝置失靈，還會沖刷飛機的擋風玻璃，甚至讓駕駛看不見前方。

專家指出，過去20年來飛機遇上火山塵雲的事件，光是有案可查者就有80起，導致兩架載有500名乘客的波音747s客機幾乎失事，以及20架飛機故障，維修費用高達上億美元 。

「天然災害」期刊（Natural Hazards）去年提出警告：「噴射客機航行在對流層上方時，飄散到此處的火山灰可能會造成引擎故障、渦輪葉片以及「畢托靜壓管」（Pitot-static tube）損毀，並可能導致飛機墜毀與生命損失。」

「搭乘飛機的旅客數量逐年增加，全球的年成長率為5%，再加上火山爆發本身難以預測，種種原因使得這類火山灰災害，成為危及社會安全的新威脅。」

1982年的「雅加達 事件（Jakarta Incident）」，是史上第一樁因火山灰雲登上媒體頭條的飛安事故。

當年，英國 航空（British Airway）一架從倫敦 飛奧克蘭的波音747客機，在11,000公尺高空中，遇上一團印尼 火山噴發出的火山灰雲。

飛機的四個引擎都停止運轉，驚恐不已的乘客隨著飛機往下滑落，以為自己必死無疑。飛機墜落至4100公尺的高度時，機長總算讓引擎重新啟動。（譯者：中央社蔡函岑）

冰島火山強烈爆發，噴出的大量火山灰廣泛癱瘓歐洲的航空交通，英國 、挪威、瑞典 、芬蘭 等多國取消航班。

位於冰島首都雷克雅未克東偏南約160公里的埃亞菲亞德拉（Eyjafjallajokull）冰蓋冰川火山，一個月內第二次爆發，噴出大量黑煙和火山灰。

受火山灰影響，英國倫敦 的希思羅機場和吉域機場飛機都無法升降，希思羅機最少150班航機取消。

另外，挪威、瑞典北部和芬蘭北部的空中交通亦告癱瘓，幾乎所有班機要取消。（美聯社、路透社）

A volcano has erupted in southern Iceland partially melting a glacier and emitting white steam and black smoke into the air on Wednesday.

The Icelandic Civil Defense Authority has instructed 700 people to vacate the area which is in danger of being flooded due to melting ice from Eyjafjallajokull glacier, Icelandic state radio reported.

The cloud of smoke and steam has been seen coming from a hole 200 meters (656 ft) below the ice at the Eyjafjallajokull glacier, near the location of another eruption that began in March 2010 and just recently extinguished.

Earlier, a coast guard plane flying above the eruption did not observe any lava or fire spewing from the volcano due to poor visibility.

Icelandic scientists had reported a rise in seismic activity near Eyjafjallajokull glacier early Wednesday morning, a couple of hours prior to the eruption, added the report.

This is the fifth time the volcano has erupted since Iceland was inhabited in the ninth century.

冰島南部埃亞菲亞德拉冰蓋冰川由於有火山爆發的危險，周三凌晨疏散約800名居民。

警方發言人說，由於當地發生多次地震，顯示火山可能爆發，因此疏散了700至800人。他指出，所有道路已經封閉，當局派出一架直升機到該區視察是否有火山爆發。
