University students and professors in more than 30 US states are planning demonstrations on Thursday in order to voice their anger about the increasing costs of studying over the states' cutting of education budgets that has brought about furloughs, tuition hikes, job cuts for professors, reduction of study programs and the general erosion of education system.

"We're seeing more classes taught by adjuncts and grad students who aren't getting paid (fairly). We're seeing larger class sizes, and some kids in certain majors ... can't get all the courses they need in four years," USA Today quoted Maryland student Jon Berger as saying.

Despite the federal government's financial stimulus plan for the economy, the fiscal woes of the education sector refuse to be curbed, promising heavier losses in the education system, analysts say.

"Students are paying more and getting less, and they have every right to be outraged about that," California State University chancellor Charles Reed said Wednesday.
